This week I am launching a collection of Craft Totes, trimmed with appliqué  crochet. This collection aims to celebrate both craft and sustainability, with a selection of accessories to carry all your everyday essentials.

I am a huge fan of the reusable shopping bag but often find them quite functional looking, with this collection I hope to provide practical accessories with ample storage and year-round appeal along side craft techniques.

I learned to crochet about 5 years ago, my lovely mother-in-law Sally taught me and I have been honing my skills ever since. I love the process of crocheting, for me it’s really therapeutic.

I having spent time over the last few months researching and sourcing sustainable wool, including Castilian breed sheep wool from the El Navazo Farm in Segovia, which is not far from my Madrid studio.

The El Navazo family farm is run by Angélica & Juan Antonio and their daughters and they have the support of the National Association of Castilian Sheep Breeders. This wool is produced without aggressive chemical processes such as bleaching that can damage the wool fibers.

For the granny square bags, have used sustainable vegan wool. It is hypoallergenic and its dyes are not tested on animals. It has the European standard quality seal OEKOTEX 100 for textiles. The raw material is manufactured in Germany in compliance with European environmental regulations.

I really hope you love the collection. All the bags one of kind and intended to help you go plastic bag free. I crochet each one by hand from my studio in Lavapiés, Madrid.
